Director of Brand Content Strategy, MODERN SALON and NAILS
Anne Moratto’s well-rounded beauty career includes years in beauty public relations, beauty marketing, beauty manufacturing, and now, with MODERN SALON, in beauty publishing. The through-line has been an intense interest in all things beauty and a sincere appreciation for the skilled artists and entrepreneurs who make the industry so vital, compelling and creative. Anne has been honored to be a judge of the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), and the Wella TrendVision Awards. She has launched and hosted the MODERN SALON Independent Boot Camp and the brand-first Indie Pro Awards. As a subject matter expert, Anne has been tapped for her industry expertise by many media outlets. She has been a guest on a Global Wellness Summit webinar discussing the beauty industry and the COVID pandemic, on a virtual conference for the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and their Executive Summit, and has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many beauty industry luminaries. She has interviewed beauty legends, billionaire beauty business changemakers, and countless beauty makers and she is grateful there are still so many stories to tell. Anne, a native of Wisconsin, lives with her family in Los Angeles, CA.
A client living with trichotillomania will likely hide it from you, and might skip coming to the salon altogether. Once you understand the problem, you will become an asset and resource to your client.
With cosmetology schools and the students they graduate on the decline and competition for talent ramping up, salon owners are finding it increasingly more challenging to recruit and retain talent. That perfect storm is encouraging many salons to get creative when it comes to connecting with emerging talent while solidifying the cultures that keep new hires on staff long term.
