On the heels of former Mindbody CFO Greg Wookey being named as Boulevard’s first chief financial officer, the technology company today announced the appointment of Biju Nair as the company’s new vice president of payments. In his new role at Boulevard, Nair will be responsible for overseeing the company’s payments business unit, which includes developing, leading, scaling and managing the Boulevard Payments team.

Nair is a highly experienced payments executive with a proven track record of delivering results in high growth environments. Prior to Boulevard, he spent more than two years as the senior director of payment products at Toast, the leading point-of-sale system provider. Before Toast,  he was the vice president of product management at Chase Merchant Services, part of JP Morgan Chase (JPMC). Nair has also served as the senior leader/director of product management for WorldPay/FIS (formerly Vantiv), the senior director of product management at CyberSource Inc., a Visa Company, and the manager of enterprise solutions at Homesite Insurance. Prior to these, Nair held various positions at Chase Paymentech, Cambridge Technology Partners Inc (CTP), and Trigent Software.

Nair’s appointment is part of a larger effort to strengthen and build upon Boulevard’s leadership position in the payments landscape. Boulevard’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS) is processing over $100 million in customer payments for premium salons and spas like Chris McMillan the Salon, Kelley Baker Brows, Matthew Morris Salon and Skincare, MèCHE Salon, SEV Laser, Spoke & Weal, and TONI&GUY

“We’re thrilled to have Biju on board at Boulevard.  His experience and ability to scale businesses will take our payments division to greater heights. Biju is well respected in the payments community and he’s been innovative with the payments products he’s put forward in the marketplace. Biju’s addition will help our premium spas and salon customers in their overall approach with how they interact with their customer base,” said Matt Danna, CEO & co-founder, Boulevard.

“I’m very happy to join the Boulevard team. Their approach to helping premium spas and salons operate more efficiently and smarter is much needed in the marketplace. I am very impressed with what Boulevard has been able to achieve in such a short period of time and look forward to presenting and implementing payment strategies to the benefit of Boulevard and for its existing and future client base,” said Mr. Nair.
