At Bliss Hair Studio in Shorewood, Illinois, guest retention is a huge factor in salon growth because loyal clients are not only the base of the salon’s sales year over year but also a source of growth.

“Each of our stylists is focused on offering additional services to their existing clients in order to elevate the guest experience, and in turn, increase sales,” say owners Mary Smith and Stefanie Gruber. “Newly designed chalk boards have been added to our shampoo room that feature our current additional offerings, such as a vinegar shine treatment or facial waxing.”

The salon’s front desk staff also focus on adding additional services when prebooking appointments to help stylists with this focus. The front desk team has an ongoing incentive system in place to add additional services to each prebooked appointment.
