The city of Clifton boasts a population of 84,136 and 23 schools, and each year The Hair Spa recognizes teachers on Teachers Appreciaion Week by giving each one a card of appreciation and a voucher for a complimentary service. “We distribute them by putting all the cards for each school in one envelope and asking each school’s secretary to put the cards in teachers’ school mailboxes,” says Lehansky. “It’s an inexpensive marketing strategy that creates a lot of buzz for our business, gets our name out there as a supportive community merchant, as well as generates lots of business.”
