Welcome to MODERN Spa & Wellness!
For years, our team has been honored to bring you MODERN SALON, SALON TODAY, and NAILS, media brands devoted to celebrating the artistry, business, and innovation of professional beauty. Over the past year, wellness has become increasingly recognized as an essential component of beauty and client care.
That’s why we’re so excited to introduce the first edition issue of MODERN Spa & Wellness.
To prepare for this exciting launch, our team immersed itself in the world of wellness. In January 2025, we attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where we discovered exciting new technologies that salons and spas can utilize to enhance their client offerings.
In April, we attended AmSpa’s Medical Spa Show in Las Vegas, where we saw the entire Wynn Hotel transformed into a showcase of wellness and education. At Premiere Orlando, our team was kept busy visiting the almost 300 wellness brands on the floor and in the classrooms.
Our readers are also diving into wellness with renewed interest. In this year’s annual design competition, SALONS OF THE YEAR, we noted that more entries featured specialized treatment rooms, including medspa rooms, salt caves, Turkish bath rooms, facial bars, and even a snow shower.
Wellness is all around, and we’ve actively sought out new businesses, products, vendors, and friends at industry events and shows throughout the year, including the Seoul Beauty-Metro Nurilounge’s signature K-Beauty Boost and the Global Beauty & Fashion AI Forum, both in New York City.
To cap off a year of wellness-centric wonder, our CEO, Colin Sutherland, has purchased a medspa in Florida, ensuring that MODERN Spa & Wellness has its own spa home.
In these pages, you’ll discover fresh perspectives and peer-to-peer inspiration to reimagine how wellness services can enhance your salon or spa experience.
Thank you for supporting this new platform. We look forward to continuing the conversation with you in 2026 and beyond.
With gratitude,
Angela Reich, Publisher, MODERN Spa & Wellness
