MODERN Will Be at 2013 Cosmoprof North America This Weekend!City of Hope - City of Hope's National Professional Salon Industry will bestow the Spirit of Life Award to outstanding industry leader Reuben Carranza, CEO of Wella, the Salon Professional Division of P&G, North America. The National Professional Salon Industry recognizes industry leaders each year for their contributions at the Spirit of Life Award Gala.

North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) As a founding sponsor of the annual North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), MODERN will be reporting live from the awards ceremony with social media updates and exclusive backstage interviews with winners immediately after they receive their awards. Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern and Executive Editor Alison Shipley will present the Newcomer of the Year Award.

The awards will feature renowned actor, author, entertainment journalist, producer and father Mario Lopez as host of the 2013 ceremony. Lopez will also receive the 2013 PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award honoring his charitable initiatives which include raising awareness and funds for causes that support the positive and healthy development of children and young adults.

MODERN Will Be at 2013 Cosmoprof North America This Weekend!The PBA Regional Salon Summit is a one-day event designed for salon/spa and beauty professionals who want to explore the current trends and the best practices for their businesses and careers. There will be multiple speakers and classes to provide education, business development support and networking opportunities.

When and Where: The event will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. www.probeauty.org/beautyweek

The 2013 PBA Business Forum will explore current PBA initiatives and reveal more about what's to come in the year ahead. Famed author, entrepreneur and media mogul Arianna Huffington will be the keynote speaker for this event. Huffington, a successful entrepreneur and business leader who has triumphed in a turbulent economy, will demonstrate to audiences how difficult times can be turned into an opportunity for growth-both personally and professionally.

PBA Beacon - Only the best and brightest cosmetology students are accepted into the PBA Beacon program, designed to offer them the opportunity to network with and learn from some of the most successful salon/spa owners in the industry. PBA Beacon students will also have the opportunity to attend NAHA 2013.

When: Monday, 12:30-2 p.m.

MODERN Will Be at 2013 Cosmoprof North America This Weekend!It's All in the Details: A Legislative Update - The beauty industry has seen dramatic changes with legislation over the past three years. A change in the current laws can impact everyone working in the industry – manufacturers of private label, contract manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. eauty associations including ICMAD, PBA and PCPC have collaborated to help salon/spa and beauty professionals learn about areas to plan for in their own businesses and careers.

BEACON:
