Pulp Riot is partnering with Bellus Academyto launch its first school partnership. To celebrate the “art of the partnership”, Pulp Riot co-founder Alexa Thurston IG @alexisbutterflyloft, and three of Pulp Riot’s world renowned colorists – Tracey Hughes, IG @traceyhughesedu;  Kristina Marie, IG @hairbykristinamarie; and Kasey O’Hara, IG @hairbykaseyoh -  will be painting wearable and avant garde hair at Bellus Academy on January 15, 16 and 17. The artistry will be live streamed on Instagram @pulpriothair.

The collaboration between Bellus Academy and Pulp Riot is forged on a shared vision that puts the craft of hairstyling in the artist’s hands. “At Pulp Riot and at Bellus Academy, we celebrate artistry by encouraging hairstylists to take back the power and break the rules,” said David Thurston, CEO of Pulp Riot. Thurston worked with Diego Raviglione, Director of Bellus Professional, to create the partnership. “At Bellus, we encourage every student to view their craft as art,” said Raviglione. “The strong, independent and disruptive spirit lived out in the Pulp Riot brand resonates with Bellus Academy’s culture of artistic freedom.”

During the Bellus Academy demos, Pulp Riot will serve up behind the scenes interviews with artists and students as they paint and inspire provocative color palettes on models.  Remarking on the partnership, Thurston says, “Beauty schools were not really on our radar, but Diego and Bellus Academy opened our eyes to how the right school partner could create new possibilities. Bellus’ cutting edge, progressive approach to education has positioned the school as the Rolls Royce of beauty education.”
