For this editor, attending the wellness event Destination Rejuvenation 2 was a soft launch into a more normal world after more than a year of hibernation. What does your return to normal look like?

When it came to venturing out of my pandemic cave, Destination Rejuvenation 2 was a soft launch. The event, created by professional beauty visionaries Ann Mincey-Jetton, author and president of Starshine Systems and Mary Wilson, founder of Wilson Educational Productions, Inc., was held in late March in Palm Springs, CA, and was a chance to focus on my mind, body and spirit alongside some supportive friends.
I was fortunate to be invited to a version of this retreat that was created especially for the Salon Sisters, a group of salon owners who originally bonded through the SALON TODAY 200, developing a decade-long friendship of mutual support. By the time they gathered, most participants, including Gayle Fulbright, Bonnie Conte, Rowena Yeager, Maggie DiFalco, and Janet Lombardi, had been vaccinated or were still carrying Covid-19 antibodies. These frequent industry road warriors were elated at seeing one another again after more than a year.
For three rejuvenating days, each focused on building themselves up again. Daily yoga sessions were followed by deep conversations on the three STAR points—body/thoughts and emotions, relationships, resources and giving back. We learned and practices enhanced listening and communication exercises, expressing our fears, dark thoughts, and our plans for improving on each STAR point. Then, we developed accountability partnerships, setting goals and promising to check on one another on each point long after the retreat.

Yoga sessions were part of each day's agenda.
We took a silent nature divination hike in the nearby San Jacinto State Park, communing with nature, journaling and sharing our individual experiences. Wilson led each participant through private crystal/reiki sessions while Mincey-Jetton led each through a spiritual manifestation session. And, we concluded by developing and sharing our own vision boards of our goals.
I felt incredibly privileged to participate in this event, and realize it was the perfect opportunity to shed the past year, count my blessings and refuel spiritually, mentally and physically.

Wrapping the experience up with a last night dinner out at LuLu's in Palm Springs.
