Sleek bobs. Long, layered waves. Big, bouncy curls. It doesn’t matter what style your client wears, she wants it to look shiny and healthy when she leaves the salon—and for the weeks between appointments.

Aluram’s new High Shine Collection, featuring a shampoo, conditioner, glossing serum, anti-frizz blowout spray, and glossing treatment, delivers silky smooth hair with a glassy, weightless finish for any hair type.

“Clients love how shiny their hair is with these products,” says Lauren Paglionico, founder of LRN Beauty in New York City. “And they can’t believe how their hair looks at home after using the products, because it looks like they just left the salon!”

Ingredient Story

Like all Aluram lines, High Shine Collection products are 100-percent vegan, sulfate-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free, color safe, and infused with the key ingredient that inspired the brand name: Marula oil (Aluram spelled backwards).

Why Marula? This oil, harvested from the nut inside the Marula fruit, protects skin and hair from environmental conditions that may dehydrate. In Aluram products, it helps seal, smooth and repair hair cuticles to promote moisture and hydration and provide a layer of nutrients and antioxidants.

But Marula isn’t the only natural ingredient featured in the High Shine Collection. Coconut Water is also infused in the products to promote healthy hair and scalp. Packed with electrolytes, Amino Acids, Vitamin C and Potassium, coconut water infuses strands with hydration, strength and shine.

The High Shine Collection is also formulated with:

  • Pracaxi oil to help smooth frizz

  • Pomegranate seed oil for a glossy finish

  • Hibiscus extract to attract and retain moisture

  • Rice extract to improve manageability

All these ingredients add up to high-performing, clean products that are safe to use on all hair types, including colored hair.

Treat Yourself to Shine

Aluram’s High Shine Glossing Treatment is the star of the show with its Tri-Gloss Shine Complex, a proprietary blend of three essential ingredients:

• Lactic acid to gently exfoliate and combat frizz.

• Hibiscus extract to condition, retain moisture and make hair manageable with enhanced shine.

• Coconut oil to boost natural shine and make color appear more vivid.

The High Shine Glossing Treatment can be used in the salon as an add-on service, or at home to maintain a salon-worthy finish.

“I recommend the Glossing Treatment as an add-on to color, cut and blowout services,” says Paglionico. “Everyone can benefit from this gloss, especially those with virgin hair who are curious about glosses.”

She adds, “Because it helps promote shine and reduce frizz, summer is the perfect time to recommend this product and boost your ticket. I position it as a shine boosting and frizz protection treatment to enhance hair all summer long, and clients love it!”

To maintain the shine and frizz reduction at home, Paglionico recommends the High Shine Glossing Serum and Anti-Frizz Blowout Spray.

“The Glossing Serum works on all hair types and gives your hair a silky, glass-like finish,” she says. “And the Anti-Frizz Spray is my go-to for blowouts. The coconut water infused formula is lightweight and hydrates the hair without weighing it down. It's also heat activated, so it smoothes the cuticle when using heat tools.”

Shine On

The mirror-like shine Aluram’s Glossing Treatment delivers comes with a healthy dose of moisture, making it a must-try for all your guests. It’s formulated to provide high shine, a soft finish and is even safe to use on extensions.

Use it in conjunction with the rest of the High Shine line and the results are unmatched.

The Invisible Work of a Rebrand

In this rare essay, the president of a haircare brand takes us behind-the-scenes into a world we never see when we pick up a product off the shelves--the arduous, thought-probing, second-guessing journey of rebranding a legacy product line. Not only is her reflection fascinating, but it is also incredibly useful for any salon owner or manufacturer contemplating their own brand.
