We're feeling a bit overwhelmed because there is so much to do and the free rent clock is ticking. We have selected a designer and architect. We had several choices of how to do this, but since we are adding electrical, plumbing and mechanical we have to have an architect to draw and certify the plans to get our building permits. We’ve made a cool checklist of all the things we need to consider to make sure we don’t forget anything.

Gotta love Pinterest! We’ve started an inspiration board for design, retail and stations to share with our designer. When designing our salon, we had three key areas in mind:
Stations in the Window: Our goal… show the action. We want potential clients to walk by and see what we do best, their hair. What’s key is hide the clutter and show off their work.
Receptionless Salon: We’ve created a curved wall to break up the space and hold reception. We greet our clients at the second station, escort them to reception in the middle of the salon and check out happens in the chair.
Feature Color: Our color wall is on the prominent wall in the salon. Our haircolor barista is involved in the team’s formulation and ensures as they transition to a new color line and each formula is selected and mixed to perfection.
