LifeSpa in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is hosting the first of three regional Amplify hair shows, aiming to bring Minneapolis hair artists together to electrify, magnify and intensify their creativity.

The two-day event kicks off with the evening Amplify Hair Show on July 22, which will showcase local stylists' work and premiere guest artists who will demonstrate their techniques. Attendees will mingle with local and platinum artists while enjoying a live DJ, drinks and experimental moments. Anyone interested in observing hair as an art form is welcome.

Day two is full of technical learning experiences for stylists, with “Look n’ Learns” and workshops meant to intensify creativity and skill level. These courses feature platinum artists showing their skills in 30-minute, back-to-back sessions. Experts will share techniques on strategic color placement, shag and pixie cuts, men’s long and short cuts and more.

Speakers from across major brands include:

  • Aubrey Loots, Coty/Wella, LifeSpa Artistic Director

  • Ricardo Dinis, Aveda

  • Kelly Drinkwater, Kérastase

  • Britney Williams, Bumble and Bumble

  • Angie Gilmore, Easihair

  • Kelly Bowen, MoroccanOil

  • Angel de Solar, 18:21

“We wanted to bring these brands together to leverage the incredible artistry this industry is capable of," Founder Alexandra Yanez says. "So often, it does not cross brand lines and exists in creative silos. We wanted to bust through that creative ceiling, just by being together and show every stylist in this community what they, as artists, are capable of.”
