Big Opening Day for Data-Driven Salon Summit
Relive the memories of a fascinating and fun welcome day for Data-Driven Salon Summit 2027 in Austin, Texas.
The Makeup Show Chicago, which took place on November 12 and 13 at Revel Fulton Market, was back for its sixth year as The Makeup Show's most successful show to date.

More than 4,500 attendees gathered at Revel Fulton Market over the course of the two-day Makeup Show Chicago.
The new, more centrally located location was in Chicago's trendy West Loop/Fulton Market neighborhood. The chic, warehouse-like event space felt more open than last year's location, and was more easily accessible to Chicago's various methods of public transportation.
Pro artists and makeup enthusiasts had the opportunity to mingle with top makeup artists, shop from more than 70 brands at exclusive show-only prices, network with top industry executves, fill their kits with cutting-edge products and sit in on various keynotes and seminars from the likes of Gregory Arlt, Mario Tricoci, Danessa Myricks, Yaneek Proctor, Michael DeVellis, Vivian Baker, James Vincent, Kat Von D and more. Guests were also able to refine their skill set by attending a variety of hands-on workshops and interact one-on-one with some of today’s leading celebrity artsts.
James Vincent, makeup artist and The Makeup Show’s Director of Artistry and Education, says the Midwest is an extremely important area of the market, Chicago speficially.
Vincent helped curate the educators and keynote speakers for The Makeup Show, all of whom were chosen purposefully.
“Chicago needs a little boost,” Vincent said. “My artists here are struggling a little bit. Their rates are not increasing the way they need to increase. We have more makeup artists coming into the community than ever. We have more cosmetology students graduating from cosmetology and esthetics schools in the Midwest than ever, but there are not as many jobs available as we have students graduating. So what does that mean? What do we do in this business to ensure our artists and our stylists are being educated with integrity and honesty, and being given the tools they need for success?
“What I tried to do at The Makeup Show this year was bring in some of my favorite beauty insiders and experts that can give that inspiration, give that information, but ensure that we are building a better future for my artists and stylists working in this area of the country.”
The Makeup Show Chicago featured over 70 top pro‐focused brands including: Make Up For Ever, Crown Brush, Temptu, NARS Cosmetics, Pinnacle Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, GlamcorTec, Mustaev, Make Up First School of Makeup Artistry and more.
“We were thrilled to bring back The Makeup Show Chicago, which showed record-breaking numbers at its new location at Revel Fulton Market," said Shelly Taggar, owner of The Makeup Show. "It was a wonderful opportunity for artsts and students alike to network with others in the makeup community, learn new skills, and ultimately help build their careers.”
