Betty of the Month
Urban Betty, Austin, Texas
Owned by: Chelle Morrison

Urban Betty created its blog to keep clients informed, increase its search engine optimization, reach a wider range of people, and educate clients about salon expectations and DIY hair. Everyone in the salon, including stylists, receptionists, assistants and managers are assigned a blog per year, plus the owner and marketing director both write blogs monthly so there is a minimum of three blogs posted each month.

One regular blog is the Betty of the Month, featuring a client that the team feels encompasses the salon’s mission statement. “Featured clients receive 20 percent off their next service, a goodie bag with products tailored to them, and their product picks are displayed in the salon with their photo and a blurb about why they love these products,” Morrison says. “This has been a great way to thank our clients and acknowledge their loyalty in public.”
