Celebrity hair stylist William Whatley, who is also the new creative education director for Scruples Haircare, part of the Beauty Elite Group, unveiled 2024 spring and summer hair color trends featuring a Hollywood Blonde, Manhattan Brunette, and Red Carpet Copper. Whatley provided insight into where he gets his creative vision for hair color and his methods to style the look.
“My inspirations for all our looks for spring and summer trend literally come from fashion. Life is being put back into fashion and experimental looks bringing back some of the different eras, but blending them with what’s going on with now. The same with hair color. Hair always follows fashion, so I get my inspiration from fashion, which is becoming fun and exciting again, which in turn creates the same feeling for hair color allowing us to do brighter and more statement colors."
— William Whatley, Creative Education Director, Scruples Hair
Scruples CEO Bahira Shami leveraged Cosmoprof Miami to share news about Whatley’s return to Scruples, new products, educational programs, and color trends. “William brought three Scruples color looks to life during our event, which was a phenomenal way to share a sneak peek at what’s to come in 2024 with our guests,” Shami said. “His live styling of the models using Scruples styling products was so energetic and just showed his masterpieces.”
“You’re going to see shine, you’re going to see vibrancy, and you’re going to see the trend of hair color really start to be a fashion statement to a woman’s look once again," added Whatley. "Clients are going into the salon more having fun with hair color.”
“Hollywood Blonde embodies the natural feel of classic Hollywood, blending lighter golden blondes into a tone that evokes the timeless glamour of California’s iconic blonde bombshells. We are moving away from the ashes in the blondes to give more vibrancy and natural sun-kissed golden looks.”
Manhattan Brunette epitomizes the rich, lustrous brunettes synonymous with the sophisticated charm of the East Coast, boasting captivating depth and an abundance of shine. “Scruples added in some of our berry tones to really give that reflective luscious vibrant brunette. We want to transform a dull brunette into a head-turning Manhattan Brunette look.”
Red Carpet Copper is a captivating blend of vibrant, bright, and soft, orange-based coppers, blended with beautiful golden hues to achieve that coveted Red Carpet Copper look. “Scruples’ coppers are that perfect blend without going over the top that every copper-headed client is looking for.
Scruples True Integrity Cream Color: "The products that I used for the Cosmoprof Miami 2024 presentation included Scruples True Integrity cream color. It gives vibrancy and shine to the hair with a lasting brilliance that rivals any hair color in the industry."
Scruples Creme Parfait Volumizing Foam Mousse: “My go-to styling product is always Scruples Creme Parfait Volumizing Foam Mousse. First do a fabulous blow dry and then add your hot tools to whatever style you’re wearing."
Scruples Heat Up Styling and Finishing Thermal Spray: "Whether your style is using a flat iron or a curling iron, I recommend Scruples Heat Up Styling and Finishing Thermal Spray, which protects the hair from any hot tools while putting curls and movement into the hair. The Heat Up product delivers hyper shine for that extra gloss. It is that last kiss to your look as you walk out, and the light just catches your hair.”
Scruples Renewal Hair Therapy Polish: Whatley follows up with Scruples Renewal Hair Therapy Polish, which adds great shine to the hair.
High Definition Hair Spray: To finish the look, this spray allows hair to still be brushed and can be reapplied all night to keep hair in shape all day.
