The European Wax Center │Unapologetic You Scholarship will be administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship and is the Foundation’s first and exclusive scholarship funded by a company dedicated to revealing beautiful skin in the out-of-home waxing sector.

European Wax Center, one of the world’s fastest growing beauty lifestyle service brands, is establishing a new scholarship for cosmetology and esthetics students. The European Wax Center │Unapologetic You Scholarship will be administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship and is the foundation’s first and exclusive scholarship funded by a company dedicated to revealing beautiful skin in the out-of-home waxing sector.
Twelve tuition scholarships in the amount of $4,250 will be awarded. The inaugural scholarship competition will accept applications between August 1 and September 15, 2018. The scholarship competition is open to any student enrolled in an accredited esthetician or beauty-related program.
The uniquely named scholarship reflects the message of female empowerment conveyed in European Wax Center’s iconic “Revealing You. Revealing Beautiful Skin” campaign that focuses on the idea of unapologetic confidence. “While we live in the beauty space, European Wax Center is all about inspiring fierce, bold and unapologetic confidence, as we help women reveal their beautiful skin and live their lives with unabashed confidence,” said Sherry Baker, President, Marketing and Development. “As we celebrate unapologetic confidence, education is just one way we aim to level the playing field and enhance the opportunity for people to ‘strut out’ into successful and meaningful beauty careers.”
The scholarship reflects growing demand for licensed beauty professionals. According to a report published by Career Education College & Universities (CECU), nearly 800,000 beauty and spa professionals will be needed in the next decade to meet employer demand. A 2017 study published by the International Spa Association reported more than 30,000 positions in the professional spa industry are currently unfilled.
“The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation is honored to have one of the world’s fastest-growing franchises support our efforts to equip and empower licensed beauty professionals,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. “European Wax Center’s generosity is helping the Foundation and partners throughout the industry galvanize resources that celebrate the diverse opportunities available to licensed beauty and wellness professionals.”
