SALON TODAY: What about Meyer’s background makes her a good fit for your business?

Kayli Bonnet Abney: “Angela started at Bella Style’s front desk 13 years ago and has grew within leadership ever since, especially in the front desk area. She ended up growing our front desk training and hired two people under her management. She started really focusing on the numbers and the revenue coming into the salon, and how that looks for our inventory and budgeting. Then, we transitioned her into her role as director of operations.”

Abney: “This girl can break down some numbers and stay on budget! In fact, she’s the one who will tell us we don’t need to spend our money in a certain area. She definitely has the hustle mindset! We call her a Bella Ride or Die. She will do whatever it takes to make Bella successful.”

ST: How is Meyer compensated?

Abney: “She receives hourly pay with PTO and a retail commission based on our entire retail sales.”

ST: What are the three most important tasks this manager takes on at the salon?

Abney: “Budgeting, inventory, and all our ordering. She also onboards new staff members and manages the team. And, she’s the first to handle guest requests before the owners step in.”

ST: How has this manager helped you develop the business?

Abney: “Oh man, Angela is the longest employee Bella has. When we say ride or die, we mean it. She would give her pinky for our salon, and we just don’t mess with that. We have a genuine care for one another, as we’ve been in each other’s lives for more than a decade. We show up, whether it’s business or in our personal lives. You can always count on her no matter what. That’s what sets her apart.”
