Bobby Pins Are Hard to Find
J. Henry Salon, Inc.
Portland, Maine
Owned by: Jaison Henry, Adam Huntley & Cynthia Brainerd

Jaison Henry believes a business card needs to be clever and memorable for clients to hang onto them. “Owning a salon and having primarily female friends, I’m constantly asked for two things: hairspray and bobby pins. Being male with a shaved head, I never have either on me when I’m outside the salon. One evening after being asked for bobby pins, I searched in my bag to see if I had any and replied, ‘No bobby pins, just cards.’” Inspiration struck when Henry realized his audience always needed bobby pins, and he needed to keep his name on the tip of their tongues. Henry designed a clever folded card that featured the salon’s tagline ‘Beauty is EVERYWHERE!’ on the outside, and on the inside the simple statement (but bobby pins are hard to find) introduces four handy pins. The back of the card features the salon’s contact info.
