November gives people a chance to stop and think about the things they are grateful for, both personally and professionally. And when it comes down to it, most people are grateful for people, because people are what make us feel happy and successful.

Rosa Hawkins, Goldwell North America Artistic Team Member and owner of Di Rosa Haircare & Esthetique (Franklin Square, NY), is giving thanks this month to her clients with “Giving Back is the New Black” promotion offering a Black Friday Gift Card at 20% off for sale on Friday and Saturday (only) for use after December 1st.

“Our Black Friday Gift Card event is something our guests really look forward to, we offer 20% off all gift cards for two days only, it’s our way of giving back to our loyal clients and goes a lot further than a calendar or keychain,” says Hawkins. “We post the offering on all of our social media outlets and have signage all over the salon. Our guests get really excited about it, and tell all of their family and friends! It's a real give back that goes a long way in showing how much we appreciate our relationship.”

Hawkins has been doing this for four years now and their numbers have grown every year. Last year they sold $53,000 dollars in gift cards in two days! Some people buy as gifts and some buy to discount their regular services.

Di Rosa Haircare & Esthetique (Franklin Square, NY), is giving thanks this month to her clients with “Giving Back is the New Black” promotion offering a Black Friday Gift Card.

“The great thing about this promotion is that these gift cards come back in January when we hit our slower season, so it keeps the staff busy…and the cash flow before December doesn't hurt either!” she adds.

“This is the perfect example of how to use social media to promote something – it’s a quick two day promotion that everyone will want to be a part of, so blanketing over social media and having your receptionist reinforce it at the front desk ensures that everyone knows about it,” says Patrick McIvor, Artistic & TechniCulture Director for Goldwell and KMS California and social media mentor.
