Opened in 2016 by hair artists Andrea Hans and Josie Sanchez, Broome Street Society is a must-visit salon in New York City. Located in the chic neighborhood of SoHo in Manhattan, the salon offers a broad portfolio of services, including hairstyling, coloring, cutting, keratins, and extension work, and the staff at Broome Street Society is committed to exceptional service provided in a professional, accessible and sustainable environment.
“We met at a previous salon, and we just clicked,” says Sanchez, “Everything we saw for our dream space just aligned.”

Together, Sanchez and Hans built a space unlike anything they’d seen in New York before. Adorned with unique features, including a vintage barber chair when you first enter the salon, a fully-lit selfie room, a workstation with coloring books and a grand piano, Broome Street Society is not your typical New York City salon.
“Understanding a typical New Yorker’s lifestyle, we wanted a place where people can come, spend a long time, and multi-task. It encompasses the way people can come in and spend as much time as they need with us,” says Sanchez
Broome Street Society has become a staple part of the NYC community to locals, artists, and passer-byers alike.
“We get some interesting client requests. We often do a lot of formal styling, getting people ready for events. We’ve done a lot of MET Gala styling before, City Hall is right around the corner, so we’ve done some same-day weddings,” says Hans. “And being in SoHo, we’re in a mecca of celebrity and notable humans.”
Their client roster includes the likes of Kevin & Danielle Jonas, Connie Britton, Mindy Kaling, Rita Ora, Kieran Shipley, Ellen Pompeo, Nate Ruess, Christina Jiminez, and more.

Since its inception, sustainability has been at the forefront of Broome Street Society’s mission. Reducing their carbon footprint is top of mind, from using compostable towels to the Ecohead shower heads for the shampoo bowls.
Their passion for sustainability, mixed with their eye for creating a space that encompasses urban sophistication and eco-friendly practices, they were a natural fit to become a Davines salon. As a Green Circle Certified Sustainable Salon, with sustainable mixed scrap wood custom-built finishings, Broome Street Society was a natural fit for Davines.
In 2021, Broome Street Society was named the flagship salon for Davines North America, the North American subsidy of haircare staple Davines Group, based in New York City. With two Davines educators on staff and owner Andrea Hans as a participant in the pilot Davines Colour Genius Education Program, Broome Street Society has become a coveted part of the Davines salon family.
“We are blessed to have the amazing team of Broome Street Society led by Andrea and Josie supporting our brand in such a professional manner. We know our consumers are delighted to enjoy the entire Davines experience in the beautiful setting of Broome Street Society” says Alejandro López, CEO of Davines North America.
Broome Street Society and its stylists have won countless awards, including three North American Hairstyling Awards nominations (and one win), SALON TODAY 200 honors and one of the 2018 Salons of the Year. They are a certified Back To You Salon, providing alternative hair options for medical patients.

Each staff member, stylist or not, is educated on Davines salon products and is given the opportunity to learn ample amounts about the salon industry. Hans and Sanchez will often travel with their staff, competing in hair shows and keeping further salon education at the forefront.
“Every business partnership needs to be the yin and the yang,” says Josie Sanchez. “We truly had blind trust in one another, and we love what we’ve built together,” adds Andrea Hans.
