SalonCapri is a family-operated hair salon brand owned by the Penna family. The original SalonCapri opened in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood in 1967 with three locations now on Newbury Street in Boston’s Back Bay and in the suburbs of Newton Highlands and Dedham’s Legacy Place.  It has flourished for more than fifty years as one of the country’s preeminent hair salons. SalonCapri has received numerous “Best of Boston” awards and has twice been named to ELLE magazine’s “Top 100 Salons.” Owner Nick Penna and his team pride themselves on offering best-of-class services, styling and sophistication to a wide range of clients.

The Newbury Street location has a contemporary, minimalistic interior that highlights bright whites and features unique round light fixtures and refurbished barn wood accents. The salon has 10 styling/cutting stations, four color stations and the complete line of haircolor and styling products from L’Oréal Professional. The salon also has a retail section of haircare and styling products for at-home maintenance from L'Oréal Professionnel, Shu Uemura and Kerastase.

The 2,200 square-foot Newbury Street interior space was completely renovated and custom-designed by architecture firm, studio 3.0, in order to provide a sophisticated, yet tranquil, salon environment for city residents and tourists looking for the highest-quality styling and color treatments. Highlights of the space include a spacious reception area with large, sun-lit glass windows, and sleek black chairs and white mirrors at each stylist station, which stand out nicely against barn wood wall accents and a warm brown wooden floor. The shampoo & rinse area features reclining black leather massage chairs.

“Opening a third salon on Newbury Street back in 2013 made perfect sense for us, as our focus on providing clients the very best salon experience matches the unparalleled style and sophistication of the Newbury Street neighborhood and its clientele,” says Nicholas Penna, L’Oréal Professionnel brand ambassador and owner/lead stylist of SalonCapri. “Throughout our 50 years in business, SalonCapri has developed a loyal following by providing our clients with a high level of service and access to cutting-edge cut and coloring techniques.”
