Overlooking 5th Avenue and the Empire State Building, right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of New York City, Roman K Salon is a retreat from the chaos. The upscale, yet comfortable space was designed to encourage clients to linger and lounge, socialize and savor the luxury of a mimosa and a quiet moment.

Owner Roman Kusayev had a precise vision while designing the salon, visualizing an open space flooded in natural light. This came to fruition with large floor to ceiling windows that offer a stunning view of NYC, while allowing plenty of sunlight to illuminate the area. The spacious format allows for easy flow through the salon, where 15 hair stations make up the focal point of the room. Each station is designed with specially sized cabinets and drawers to hold all blowdryers, capes, scissors and products.

It was also important to Kusayev to maintain the integrity of the building, by restoring original features like a beautiful tin ceiling and chic exposed brick. These vintage accents are complimented by unique lighting fixtures, establishing a balance between sophistication and cool in this modern, eclectic space.

True to his vision of comfort and escape, Kusayev’s favorite design feature is the lounge area, consisting of a gorgeous, modern bar and a large, custom-made, purple alligator-skin couch. Far from being the type of salon that rushes clients in and out, clients of Roman K are invited to linger over coffee – or champagne if it’s that kind of day – before being escorted to their beauty treatments. The space has also been used for multiple parties and salon events. In the city that never sleeps, Roman K Salon hasn’t forgotten the luxury of beautiful surroundings, hospitality and indulgence.
