How to Create Maleficient Horns

  • Create a section a few inches above the ear, leaving some hair out to frame the face, and secure a small ponytail.  Repeat on the other side of the head.
  • Using a Sam Villa TEXTUR Professional Texturizing Iron, crimp down the ponytails to expand volume.  This will give enough grip to build the shape.
  • Backcomb each ponytail heavily and spray with hairspray.
  • Place pointer finger pointing down and towards the head and start wrapping the ponytail tightly.  After it is completely wrapped, use fingers to pull up the middle portion to create a point – the entire shape will resemble a horn.  If hair is not long enough, use clip-in extensions or secure a weft with bobby pins.
  • Anchor the base of the horn with bobby pins/hairpins and continue to fluff and shape the horn with hairspray, making sure to heavily spray the final shape for longevity.

“I saw a feather tie that was giving witchy vibes and thought that this Maleficent look was a fun spin on a classic witch,” adds Devine.
