For many nail techs, prepping the nails for a service isn’t the most exciting part of an appointment. We often want to get through the prep process to get to something more creative, like sculpting, color, or nail art. E-files are great for this purpose and, of course, save you several minutes over using a regular file.

A smart e-file, however, can speed you up more than you even thought possible. MODERN SALON 100 alum and Artist Connective Member Yesica Leal Nolasco (@yes_icanails) names the Gelish Go-File IQ her e-file of choice. Here are just a few of the reasons she recommends this portable little powerhouse for all kinds of nail prep and shaping.

Natural Nail Precision

Thanks to the Gelish Go-File IQ’s precise RPM settings and ability to hold any universal bit securely, you can rest assured that your clients’ natural nails are safe from damage. Smoothness is the name of the game, and this e-file will get you there quickly.

Balance & Fill Prep

The Go-File IQ can tear through acrylic and gel product like it’s butter, making it easy for you to prep the nail for a fill or shape up your fresh application in a flash. You’ll be wondering how you ever lived without it, as many who have used the new e-file have expressed, including Nolasco. This allows you more time for detailed art or more clients!

Smart Settings

Why do they call the Gelish Go-File IQ a smart e-file? This e-file allows you to program three different RPM presets so that your desired speed is always one button away. For example, the machine comes with default RPM zone settings of 1,000, 10,000 and 20,000, and adjusting them to your needs is easy. If you know that you always love to prep at 3,000 RPM, you can make that one of your presets. You can also turn the dial for any RPM setting you need at any time.

In addition to allowing for speedier services, the Go-File IQ is entirely portable. You can use it on the go or while it’s docked and charging, and it’s so small that it takes up only a tiny bit of space on your desk. There are so many features that make this new e-file the smartest and most convenient one on the market, so getting your hands on one will certainly be a worthwhile investment.
