Nestled just a short stroll to the shore of Lake Michigan in the calm and cultured Milwaukee, Wisconsin, neighborhood of Bayview, Stag Barbershop creates a whole new meaning of classy minimalism. “The building has been a barbershop since the turn of the twentieth century,” says owner Jess Stern, who wanted to continue the practice with a specific vision in mind for a classic barbershop catering to the modern man. Stern, along with her two barbers Sarah Everson and Ivy Gilday, make Stag a hip and close-knit take on a classic cut-and-shave joint. Here, Stern points out the important elements of the design.
