Each month, the Beauty Industry Report provides readers the information they need to predict industry trends, keep on top of leadership shifts and stay on the cutting-edge of an ever-changing industry. SALON TODAY provides you with a few highlights of the December issue of the Beauty Industry Report:

  • The legacy of Paul Mitchell continues as his son Angus Mitchell launches Angus M, his own 1,800 square-foot salon in Beverly Hills, with business partner Fernando Romero. Described my Mitchell as the "cook kid on the block," the salon is the culmination of four years of business planning and platform artistry that built Mitchell's reputation. The brightly lit space has high ceilings and curved glass and features a four-chair Wash House, 11 styling stations and three color stations. Prices for cuts range from $55 for an associate to $300 for Romero and $500 for Mitchell.

  • Master colorist and celebrity hair expert Kim Vo celebrated the launch of his signature hair care collection with a red carpet party aboard a private yacht in Miami. The line, which blends ancient Vietnamese botanicals with the latest French nanotechnology, will be carried by all six The Beauty Store (GBS) salon stores across South Florida.

  • Lee Rizzuto, Jr, vice president of Conair Professional Global Business Units, was recently honored as the Grand Marshall of the Columbus Day parade in Stamford, CT, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Juany Beauty Show.
