Take a trip to Levato Salon (@levatosalon) located just outside Chicago in heart of historic downtown Hinsdale, IL, and you’re bound to see a delighted guest emerge from the restroom with praise and questions. That’s because the space is unexpectedly curated with plants, a gallery wall and chic decor that all comes together to elevate the client experience.
According to Levato Salon owner Ashley Carlevato, your business’s baño isn’t an area to be wasted. Instead, it should flow with the feel and aesthetic from the main service area, presenting another opportunity to surprise and impress guests during their time with you. “Bathrooms are the best place to have fun with design and use cool wallpapers and prints,” she says.
When it came to the vision for this space, the Levato team prioritized bold finishes and lots of brightness, because the bathroom had no natural lighting. They also added a stylish black and white wallpaper throughout, accentuated with framed photos. “The photos are of models at fashion week and pictures of our space when it used to be an old theatre in the 1920s,” Carlevato notes, paying tribute to the salon’s local history.
While this bathroom appears to be all pattern and play, it’s also a COVID-safe facility with thorough daily cleaning and lots of sanitation supplies for staff and guests. Additionally, the team incorporated a new system in 2020 to indicate if the bathroom is occupied and prevent guest traffic around the area.
