The ‘Cheers’ Salon
RED 7  Salon
2 locations headquartered in Chicago, Illinois
Owned by: Jason Hall and David Kafer

After being in business for 11 years, the RED 7 owners decided to release the salon’s first television commercial to reinforce the brand with current clients while attracting new ones. In the 60-second spot, Hall provides the voiceover, succinctly describing the salon’s atmosphere, staff and mission to a backdrop of action footage from the salon floor mixed with interior and exterior salon shots.

The commercial aired for three months on six cable networks (Bravo, HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet, E!, and TV Land) which share a demographic similar to the salon’s target market. “Our existing clients were so excited to see their salon on TV, they made social media posts and spread the word to friends and colleagues,” says Hall. “And we maximized that buzz by sending out an email blast to all of our clients.”
