The Charles Penzone Salons
6 locations headquartered in Columbus, Ohio
Owned by: Charles and Debra Penzone

In 2012, the Charles Penzone Salons launched an initiative to encourage its network of more than 500 professionals to create their own Facebook pages to help professionals market themselves and their talents. The salon’s marketing department created a step-by-step informational packet that walked staff members through creating a professional page off their personal pages, allowing the individuals to keep their private and work lives separate but allowing them to communicate with guests.

As a safeguard, the salon created a private account under the name CP Manning, and asked the professionals to change the administrator settings enabling CP Manning as a page administrator. “We currently have 88 professionals participating in this program and they have produced a cumulative count of 4,728 likes, an incredible expansion of our brand’s reach,” says Debra Penzone.

“In addition, these pages provide us with a constant stream of relevant content to share with guests, such as styling tips, trends and product recommendations, right at our fingertips.”
In addition, the salon’s Hair Training Team and Spa Advancement Team have developed a series of step-by-step tutorials to help guests master certain trends and achieve certain looks. “Posting this content speaks to the talents of our professionals and positions them and our company as industry experts and trailblazers,” says Penzone.
