“Our sole purpose and responsibility will be to serve our boss: the professional hairdresser, with world-class technical education, creative inspiration and meaningful innovation with a focus on personal and professional development,” Sementilli says.

“Fabio’s creative drive is well-known to hairdressers throughout the continent, but his thirst for teaching has made him the ideal person to lead Wella Education into the salons, onto the show platform and into the schools,” says Wella CEO Reuben Carranza. “His passion for the craft and commitment to mentoring the next generation make him a truly inspirational leader.”

Wella North America Education, a team of several hundred artist-educators which offers craft- and creative-based education across the U.S. and Canada, delivers education in salons across North America, at the Wella Studios in New York and Los Angeles; on platform at shows such as America’s Beauty Show and Premiere; in seminars in alliance with the Oribe Atelier; and through e-Education at www.pgsalonpro.com.

In addition to creating and delivering education for the Wella family (including Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professional, Nioxin and Clairol Professional), the Education group heads up competitions, most notably Wella Trend Vision, Wella Student Competitions and Sebastian’s What’s Next.

Carranza credits Sementilli’s educational philosophy with bringing a team approach and competition to the forefront of the professional educational practice.
