On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Ulta Beauty proudly opened the doors of its brand-new downtown Chicago store for a sneak peek of its 999th location. The grand opening onMichigan Avenue—best known as the Magnificent Mile for being the largest shopping district in the Windy City—celebrates Ulta Beauty’s new look.

Located at 430 N. Michigan Avenue, the new location features a much larger salon space than Ulta consumers are most familiar with.In addition to the chain’s first-ever MAC Cosmetics boutique, the Michigan Ave. location also features a Skin Laundry clinic, which is best known for its signature Laser & Light Facial.

During the Mag Mile debut, attendees including editors, beauty bloggers, Chicago media and VIPs, experienced hair and makeup touch-ups, sweets from Dylan’s Candy Bar, shopping the 10,000+-sq. ft. store, and mingling with Ulta Beauty’s top executives, including CEO Mary Dillon. 

“Isn’t it beautiful?” Nick Stenson, Ulta Beauty’s Chief Artistic Director, beamed as he was joined by his Pro Team colleagues Sonya Dove, Global Ambassador for Wella Professionals and Danielle Keasling, Matrix Artistic Director.

Ulta Beauty continues to add roughly 100 stores each year, and has plans to open a similar location in Manhattan in late 2017.
