Paul Mitchell’s Business rEvolution 2016features business programs for salons and stylists, offering them on-point learning for an ever-shifting landscape. The rEvolution is underway in Las Vegas at the Aria Resort. In a series of break-out sessions, industry educators and coaches speak on best practices and challenge attendees to look at what they’re doing now, and make it better.  As Robert Cromeans, Global Artistic Director for Paul Mitchell, says,” I’m allergic to average.”

In a session about “The Right Team”—how to assemble, inspire and lead one—Terri and Steve Cowan of Professional Salon Conceptsand the CEO of Millenium, John Harms, shared the stage and asked salon professionals to examine their operations.  “We want you to think about why you’re doing what you’re doing.  Why beauty?” says Steve Cowan.

The greatest way to get people to work is to create an energy that pulls them in.  What’s your favorite day to work in the salon? Saturday, right?  And why? Because it’s busy, it’s poppin’, there is an excitement to it. –Terri Cowan

You have to find opportunities to surprise and delight your guests.  Take something they already love, like a shampoo or a foot massage during a pedicure, and allow it to be a longer service that you charge more for. –Terri Cowan
