In 2003, the staff at Racine Salon de Beaute and Spa in Islip, New York, created the Mondays at Racine cancer care program, which provides complimentary services and supportive therapies every third Monday of the month. Now what started in one salon is becoming a national movement providing educational programs that work alongside conventional medical protocols, so millions of people all over the country and world will be able to heal more effectively. The Mondays at Racine Foundation is developing a toolkit with all the protocols for treating clients who are undergoing cancer treatment and is developing a website where patients can find participating salons.
