Committed to the fight against ovarian cancer, the National Latino Cosmetology Association (NLCA) has created fund-raising initiatives to help women learn about the disease and its symptoms. Build awareness in your salon, spa and community during the month of September for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Week. Create an Esperanza Day in your salon to inspire all professionals to support this cause and support early detection of ovarian cancer. Ways to contribute include: 1) Creating a day of pampering at your salon and spa to benefit Esperanza for ovarian cancer survivors and women currently undergoing treatment. 2) Host an awareness breakfast for your staff, inviting their family and friends to learn about the signs, symptoms and treatment of the disease. 3) Host runs, walks, dinners and dances for awareness and help fund the scientific research to beat ovarian cancer.
