The Wella “Supports Your Cause” Charity Challenge is part of Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart program, which provides lifetime career support at four critical stages of a hairdresser’s career: student, new talent, working hairdresser and salon owner. Aimed to help hairdressers and salon owners amplify their contributions to charity within their local communities, the yearly Charity Challenge awards a total of $43,000 in grants to salons whose fund-raising efforts support causes such as heart disease research, domestic abuse shelters and autism awareness. The grants range between $1,000 and $10,000 and will help salons put on fund-raisers, launch cut-a-thons or benefit the salon’s charity of choice in their local communities. Salon owners and hairdressers will be eligible to submit entries through hairdressersatheart.com through April 1, 2014. Winners will be announced in June 2014.
