The John Paul Mitchell Systems family of artists and owners gathered in Sardinia, Italy for education, inspiration and beauty bonding.

This June, over 600 attendees from two dozen countries gathered in the heart of the Mediterranean in Sardinia, Italy at the Forte Village Resort for the second John Paul Mitchell Systems Global Gathering. Hosted by Paul Mitchell Systems Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, John Paul DeJoria, along with Co-owner and Artistic Director of Education Angus Mitchell, Global Artistic Director Robert Cromeans, and Vice President of Education Stephanie Kocielski and their Artistic Team, this is the second Global Gathering for John Paul Mitchell Systems. Combining both the US and European Trainer teams, the Global Gathering brought together artistic talent on stage, hands-on education in the classrooms and business smarts in small break-out sessions.
“We took our biggest education event of the year overseas to support our global hair care professionals advance their craft, career and life,” DeJoria, says. “This is one way we keep striving to raise the standards of hairdressing, as well as the beauty industry as a whole.”
Stage presentations featured master artists and leaders like Lucie Doughty, Jason Reyes, Noogie Thai and Alessandro Iannaccon who created styles, cuts, and colors. Details were shared in multiple languages via translations through personal headsets. Anthony Whitaker, author of the Grow book series, shared his business insights and unique steps on helping your business grow.
Cut: Stylists learned one haircut that bulks up hair and one that diffuses weight.
Color: Colorists learned about Paul Mitchell’s new hand-painting clay lightener Skylight, as well as how to color melt with the latest POP XG shades.
Style: Stylists learned various artistic placements and how to use different materials to create high profile runway looks.
Business: Professionals will learn how to elevate their marketing, financial, social media, merchandising and management skills.
The opening show featured styles from the Rare Marula brand and models that were cut, colored and styled on-stage, inspired by the Rock Paper Scissors collection. The finale focused on iconic brands from Apple to Ikea and concluded off with an icon of the professional beauty industry, Paul Mitchell.
Three stylists in attendance had won the trip as their prize for winning the Second Annual Color Outside The Lines Hair Color Competition by Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Color.
