Who We Are
Malibu C is a solution-driven professional hair and skincare brand based in science. Since 1985, the company’s mission has been to solve problems using nature-inspired, patented technologies.
At the core of Malibu C’s Wellness Beauty Collection is a selection of customized Wellness Haircare Remedies that are 100-percent vegan, cruelty-free and formulated without gluten, parabens, sulfates, preservatives and fragrances, and made in the United States. These patented remedies feature Malibu C’s crystallized vitamin complex of nature-inspired ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in the purest, most potent form for optimum results and benefits.
First Person
Malibu C’s Sales Education Manager Missy Peterson, who is also a salon owner and colorist, weighs in on the benefits of the line.
Education Update
We have three American Board Certified colorists at the helm of our Malibu C Education. Digitally, we offer the Malibu Academy for Online Learning, where stylists can become certified in Total Oxidation Management by Malibu C.
Additionally, there is the Malibu C Education Forum for professionals on Facebook, where stylists have the opportunity to learn from each other and ask questions in a protected setting clients cannot access. Periscope is another digital vehicle we use for education, as it gives stylists instant access to live, real-time in-formation from stylists behind the chair.
We also offer classes in our on-site Malibu Academy in Indianapolis, where salon professionals have the opportunity to learn about all things Malibu C and also hear from guest artists in the industry that we bring in for education. There is also the option for an in-salon class with a certified Malibu C wellness educator.
Growing Together
As a colorist and salon owner, I was able to increase my color correction revenue by 75 percent within six months by bringing in products from the Malibu C professional line.
My personal color correction toolbox is composed of Malibu C’s CPR (Color Pigment Remover—for permanent oxidative color), DDL (Direct Dye Lifter) and Quick Fix Wellness Remedy. All of these tools allow me to serve my clients in less time and in the healthiest way possible without compromising the integrity of the hair.
Hero Product
In addition to the tools for color correction, my number one go-to product in the salon is always Malibu C Crystal Gel Wellness Remedy. This professional-only product is really a one-stop-shop for numerous solutions that are essential to my work, including: prepping my clients’ hair for successful color results, restoring the health of my clients’ hair, removing discoloration, soothing dry scalp, brightening blondes, improving color vibrancy/retention and much more.
Once salon professionals discover it and learn about its versatility, they’re able to use it in conjunction with every salon service to guarantee their work.
Formulation for Success:
Malibu C has influenced the industry by educating about the importance of preparing the color canvas prior to every service. We often say, “We don’t make color, we make color better,” which is achieved with a Crystal Gel Wellness Remedy to gently, yet effectively, remove hard water mineral build-up and other color blockers from the hair prior to each and every color service.
