Bringing global haircare authority closer to the chair, the partnership marks a renewed investment in New England's salons and stylists.
The International SalonSpa Business Network elects to share its breadth of knowledge by livestreaming this year's conference.

Cosmoprof's Jenny Bayer will take the ISBN stage with her presentation, "Be Funny, Be Witty, Be Pretty" on Monday May 7 at 2:30 PST.
Powerful advice delivered live by leading global business experts will be shared with the whole beauty industry next month as the International SalonSpa Business Network (ISBN) offers unrestricted live streaming of key speakers over the three days of its May annual conference.
Attendance at the actual conference, which costs up to $2,000, is dominated by ISBN members, owners of businesses with minimum $3 million annual revenue or at least five locations. But the ISBN has made the unprecedented decision to livestream its speakers, which includes the most eminent experts on the future of work, so the whole industry can tune in from a phone or iPad.
"We’ve become increasingly conscious that sharing our collective influence, mission and strategies will help the whole beauty industry thrive, from the stylists working hard to make a difference with each client to the whole communities on which our salons make an impact," explains Rhoda Olsen, current ISBN president and vice-chair of Great Clips, Inc. "At conference this year, we want to share key topics as they pertain to all our futures. We are all affected by these issues, so we need to join forces to embrace opportunities on the horizon."
Managed by the most successful owners and leaders, ISBN members’ businesses are often the most notable and innovative, providing key names in the beauty industry. The conference delegate list reads like a who’s who of the industry’s greatest business minds, creating a unique opportunity for ambitious salon and spa owners to network with others in a similar position.
This year’s conference, entitled Future-Proof Your Business, takes place in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is geared towards identifying factors of disruption in the beauty industry that could affect profitability and employment. Organizers hope delegates and those watching the live video stream will hear perspectives on how best to traverse the fast-changing business landscape and ensure their companies continue to be sustainable and prosperous.
"The ISBN was set up as an important forum to share ideas and challenges unique to large salons or businesses with multiple locations," says ISBN Executive Director Valorie Tate. "We aim to bring the most eminent business thinkers to the stage at our annual conference to help members plan for sustainability and growth, but then focus on facilitating opportunities for conversations between members. This is where the real magic happens – when members collaborate to find solutions to the big ideas our speakers drop in the room."
Viewers will be able to hear change management leadership expert and best-selling author Cheryl Cran, a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, focus on Leading Change in a Fast-Paced and Technological Workplace. Daniel Bruce Levin, author of The Mosaic, will be streamed live discussing artificial intelligence and what it means for the industry, as will Taylor Romero, co-founder and head of Spruce Labs, who will be talking up practical ways to leverage the latest innovations and trends to better serve and get closer to clients, and help the team perform to exceptional standards.
The first keynote will be given by industry icon and Gene Juarez Salons and Spas’ CEO Scott Missad, who will concentrate on strategies for developing the future personnel within a salon or spa, while the co-founder and chief strategy officer for digital intelligence firm L2 Inc, Maureen Mullen, will be discussing data points that indicate new trends set to disrupt the beauty sector.
There will also be a chance check in on the Facebook page at 3 pm on Wednesday, May 9, to see a tour of V’s Barbershop by Jim Valenzuela, Founder & CEO of V’s Barbershops.
