Redken Global Artistic Director Chris Baran is no stranger to NAHA nominations—he’s amassed plenty. For him, the creative process always begins with having fun. “You can have a concept in mind, but I always start by playing,” he says. “Play, experiment. You may wind up hating half of what you come up with, but you can always go in and refine it later.” For Redken Artist Lindsey Olson, it’s all about the team. “You may have a concept, but once you begin collaborating, all kinds of new ideas come to light. Once everyone on the team is on the same page, it can just get bigger and bigger.

Olson is a NAHA finalist in the Texture and Contemporary Classic categories. She began her career as a salon professional specializing in hair color and finishing. As a Redken Artist, she educates her colleagues nationwide.
