Alfonso Añorga is recognized by TASB founder, Elaine Lord, for his charitable contribution to autism Cut-A-Thon.
Alfonso Añorga, the founder and president of Johnny B, has been recognized for his charitable contribution to the annual Autism Cut-A-Thon by the Association of Stylists and Barbers.
TASB founder, Elaine Lord, presented Añorga with the organization’s “Recognition with Style” award for his contribution. A cause the stylist says is near and dear to his heart. Añorga adds it wasn’t even a question whether he would donate – as his son, Evan, is autistic.
“We always look for ways to give back to the community, and the great thing about this particular cut-a-thon is that it crosses multiple states and lasts for a booking period of six weeks,” said Añorga. “The exposure to the cause and the financial impact is way greater than a one-off event.”
According to Atlanta-based TASB Johnny B products were given to all participating salons, stylists, and barbers in Florida, Indiana, and Georgia. Since 2011, TASB has raised more than $80,000 for the cause and gives the money directly to families in need of autism therapy and guidance.
Founded in 2008, TASB is an elite group of stylists and barbers who are as passionate about giving back as they are about their craft. Volunteers within the organization donate their time and skills to raise awareness for many charitable causes such as autism and anti-bullying. The goal is to educate, build confidence, and give back to their communities.
