With the bewitching season of Halloween on the horizon, our thoughts turn to the eerie and uncanny.  So in the spirit of Halloween, let's delve into the realm of haunted houses...

Is Your Home Haunted?

It always seems to happen when you’re alone. Maybe the floors in your home start creaking as if someone is walking down the hallway right outside of your room. Sometimes it may sound like something, or perhaps someone, is scratching inside the walls right by your couch or bed. But no one else is there. Right?

In a survey conducted by All Star Home of about 1,000 Americans, people are opening up about some of the chilling situations they have experienced inside their homes. That strange rattling could just be the wind blowing through a broken gutter, or maybe it’s coming from something unfathomable.

Survey Results

  • More than 1 in 3 report hearing unexplained sounds such as footsteps or voices.

  • Nearly 1 in 5 have seen apparitions or ghostly figures.

  • 1 in 10 have used a Ouija board at home, but 42% say they’d never do it again.

Think these spine-tingling statistics only happen in creepy basements or dusty attics? The bedroom is actually the #1 place for spooky situations.

It’s hard to pinpoint one ghostly situation from the next, but one thing is for sure… a lot of these encounters seem to happen in older homes. The average age of the homes where Americans had a strange experience was 88 years old. Nearly 1 in 3 admit it: old homes freak them out.

Visit www.AllStarHome.com for the full report and more chilling statistics, including how many Americans would be willing to purchase a house that is haunted, and how much they’d be willing to pay for it!

The Invisible Work of a Rebrand

In this rare essay, the president of a haircare brand takes us behind-the-scenes into a world we never see when we pick up a product off the shelves--the arduous, thought-probing, second-guessing journey of rebranding a legacy product line. Not only is her reflection fascinating, but it is also incredibly useful for any salon owner or manufacturer contemplating their own brand.
