Why and how do hairstylists change the world?

“They make you feel heard, seen and loved," says Elizabeth Faye (@heyelizabethfaye), a Business Energetics Coach and educator,  in this TED Talk video.  "It is an intimate form of human connection. What happens in the chair is sacred, here we connect through listening, eye contact, physical touch, and storytelling. Hearts are open and walls are down.”

You'll hear in this video how vulnerable people become when in their client's chair, and how much they share. One of her clients, who was a retired interrogator, told her that when they need information on a suspect, one of the first persons they turn to is the hairstylist.

Faye has also created a documentary with the same name as her TEDX: "Hairstylists Change the World."

The Invisible Work of a Rebrand

In this rare essay, the president of a haircare brand takes us behind-the-scenes into a world we never see when we pick up a product off the shelves--the arduous, thought-probing, second-guessing journey of rebranding a legacy product line.
