Steve Hockett, CEO of Great Clips, Inc., has won a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award honoring the top CEOs in 2019. This list recognizes CEOs who receive positive ratings – given voluntarily and anonymously – from employees throughout the past year. Hockett was recognized as 73rd on the list.
“My aim as CEO is to provide a positive and rewarding work experience for all Great Clips team members whether they work at the corporate office or for a franchisee in one of our 4,400 franchised salons across the U.S. and Canada,” said Hockett. “I couldn’t do that without the help of our corporate employees, franchisees and their stylists across the system who all help contribute to an engaging and enriching culture at Great Clips, and I share this recognition with them.”
Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, gathers current and former employee feedback on companies for prospective employees’ use. When employees submit reviews about their company on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and other workplace attributes like senior management. For a franchised brand like Great Clips, that means weighing in on how well the CEO is doing with respect to driving the brand forward. Among the approximately 900,000 companies reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 69%. Hockett has a 92% approval rating on the website.
Glassdoor’s Top CEOs in 2019 ranking was determined using company reviews shared by U.S.-based employees between May 2, 2018 and May 1, 2019. The final list accounts for the quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
