Beauty & Pin-Ups presents Fearless Hair Rescue Treatment, designed for dry, dull hair damaged by over-coloring, overstyling and over-obsessing. Created by professional stylists, this intensive hair mask makes dry and damaged hair softer and more manageable in under ten minutes.

Best Buddies International Global Ambassador Katie Meade is the face of Fearless, making her the first person with Down Syndrome to be a beauty brand’s model. Katie has been living a fearless life since she was born, having overcome multiple heart surgeries when she was younger, then going on to become a gold medal winner at the Special Olympics. Along with the organization and companies like Beauty & Pin-Ups, Katie strives to end the social, physical, and economic isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This targeted treatment product is for use in-salon or at-home, and undoes damage while leaving hair fortified and healthy after one use. With a rich blend of plant-derived oils and vitamins, Fearless repairs broken bonds, adds shine, and boosts fullness. To use Fearless, apply to freshly shampooed, towel-dried hair, then cover with the enclosed cap for five minutes. With severely damaged hair, allow the product to work for up to ten minutes, then rinse and style as usual. Also within the Fearless pouch is a mini tri-fold featuring Katie’s story and her favorite pin-up looks. As with all Beauty & Pin-Ups products, a portion of the proceeds from every sale supports Best Buddies International.

On July 19, 2016, MODERN SALON was on the scene at the launch of Beauty & Pin-Ups products in Ricky's NYC stores. The beauty bash at Ricky's 14th Street location was attended by Katie Meade and Valor Superfine Hairspray pin-up Gina Elise, founder of Pin-Ups For Vets.

The Invisible Work of a Rebrand

In this rare essay, the president of a haircare brand takes us behind-the-scenes into a world we never see when we pick up a product off the shelves--the arduous, thought-probing, second-guessing journey of rebranding a legacy product line. Not only is her reflection fascinating, but it is also incredibly useful for any salon owner or manufacturer contemplating their own brand.
