The Christophe Robin salon in Paris has long been the go-to for actresses and super models who crave superb hair color, luxurious treatments, a high regard for nature and the effortless, sexy style that the French do so beautifully. In 1999, Christophe Robin products debuted—a collection of unique and rejuvenating formulas for colored and sensitive hair. Over the years, many top salons have embraced these products and now there’s reason to celebrate. This fall, the brand is evolving with a new look, making it more enticing than ever for stylists who care deeply about the health of their clients’ hair. Here, top salon owners weigh in on what they love about Christophe Robin products and what’s to come.

Ryan Trygstad, co-owner of Mark Ryan Salon in New York, loves the Christophe Robin Shade Variation Mask. “The tones are delicate, and the mask leaves the hair feeling nourished. Our clients’ color remains beautiful between appointments.”

At Mark Ryan Salon in New York City, owners Mark DeBolt and Ryan Trygstad have high standards for their clients. “We love that the formulas were created by a hair colorist. So many of our clients have color and it’s great to offer products that protect their color and ensure that it looks as beautiful at home as it does when they leave the salon,” DeBolt shares.
Among their favorites in the line? Mark is devoted to the CR Shade Variation Masks. He explains, “As a colorist, I’ve experimented with many different color-depositing products. I had always advised clients to avoid them. The reds were too pink, the coppers were too vibrant or neon orange and the violet shampoos left hair dull or off-tone and gray. But I have completely fallen in love with the Shade Variation Masks. The tones are so delicate, and the mask leaves the hair feeling nourished with increased combability.”
For Ryan, it’s all about the Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt, a unique purifying, hydrating and soothing shampoo for sensitive or oily scalps. Cynthia Petfield, owner of Reveal Hair Studio in Rye, NY is also a fan. “If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Cleansing Purifying Scrub,” she says. “Our clients love a good scalp scrub after a workout or between shampoos. This product is a game changer. But that’s not all. My clients also love a great va-va-voom blowout that lasts for days, so that's when I pull out the Cleansing Volume Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts. It’s a light paste that transforms into a light foam. You get instant volume at the roots and density along the lengths. And all my color clients leave with a CR Shade Variation Mask. It makes them happy because they can tone their hair in between color services.”

Cynthia Petfield, owner of Reveal Hair Studio in Rye, NY, says Christophe Robin products give her salon a unique position in her market. “The products are very exclusive,” she says.

“This line stood out to me from the very beginning because of its highly concentrated natural ingredients such as prickly pear oil, Centifolia rose water and sea salt,” says Petfield. “Nowadays clients love everything that’s clean, organic and refreshing. The products are also very exclusive—you don’t find them in many salons—which makes them very special for us.”
Anthony and Antonetta Cristiano, owners of Anthony Cristiano Salon in Chicago, believe the ingredients and fragrances align with their salon’s esthetic. “Christophe Robin enhances our salon brand with such luxurious products,” they note. “The products are quite unique compared to other brands. In particular, our clients love the wonderful natural scents such as sea salt, prickly pear, aloe vera, rose extracts, sandalwood and lavender.”

The vibe of Christophe Robin has always reflected the DNA of the products—easy, quirky, playful, effortlessly stylish and quintessentially French. Think Kate Middleton or Hailey Bieber. This fall, Christophe Robin will launch beautiful new packaging that will more closely embrace that mirror that French style. The classic, sophisticated new packaging designs remain
anchored in the brand’s much-loved heritage while benefiting from improved functionality and more easily identifiable products and ranges. “The updated look will enhance the current Christophe Robin experience,” believes Cristiano, “with the same notable formulas. We are so excited that we plan to host a VIP event in the salon for our dedicated and loyal clients to showcase the new Christophe Robin packaging. We will be offering custom hair consultations and one on one consultation time with Anthony.”
The new packaging will also be kind to the earth. For every product Christophe Robin sells the company will donate a percentage towards collecting and recycling the equivalent amount of plastic waste used in the packaging and operations to achieve a Net Zero Plastic Footprint with certification. “We were delighted to learn that Christophe Robin will achieve plastic neutrality with the new bottle designs,” says DeBolt. “We opened our salon last year and felt it was irresponsible to open a business without a commitment to sustainability. “The new CR packaging initiative supports us in that commitment.”
The takeaway? This exclusive, high-performance brand is on track to be even better, and savvy salon owners are eager to re-introduce Christophe Robin to their clients. “These are extremely well-made products that will make your toughest clients happy,” says Petfield. “The products help the health of the hair after every service, especially color. There are treatments that can be used during color application and after when hair needs the most repair. Now I can't wait for the new launch!”
