The world’s foremost authority on balayage education, Candy Shaw, has been named to the Beauty Changes Lives Board of Directors. As a salon owner, celebrity hairstylist, education authority and product line creator, Shaw brings a business titan’s savvy and a humanitarian’s spirit to her role on the Beauty Changes Lives board.
Shaw founded The Academy at Jamison Shaw, an advanced training facility teaching French Cutting and Balayage. Her innovation and expertise with balayage techniques has earned her the nickname, “The Balay Lama” and the Sunlights Balayage product line she developed in 2014 has been referred to as “the world’s fastest growing, most recognizable hair color brand,” available in more than a dozen countries.
Shaw joins the board at a dynamic moment in the evolution of Beauty Changes Lives. In March 2020, Beauty Changes Lives will launch a high-energy, disruptive social media and advocacy campaign targeting the next generation of beauty professionals. Shaw’s professional success is complemented by her heart for serving others, especially women. She has been named Female Entrepreneur of the Year and was awarded the Woman of the Year-Women Helping Women” recipient as well as the Jerry Gordon Salon Business Leadership Award. Remarking on her role on the Beauty Changes Lives board, Shaw stated, “Growing up in the beauty business, I was blessed to see the artistic, entrepreneurial and humanitarian aspects of this career. Serving on the Beauty Changes Lives board will allow me to partner with a team of esteemed industry leaders in sharing all this industry has to offer with those who will drive the future of our industry.”
Shaw’s appointment to the Beauty Changes Lives board of directors is effective January 31. “We are humbled by the privilege of working with Shaw to elevate perceptions of the professional beauty industry and empower the next generation of leaders,” said Lynch.
