The J.Protect lighting system disinfects up to 99.9% of pathogens in indoor spaces and is safe to use when employees and customers are present.

Inside Orlando’s Glo Aesthetics and Skin, Juganu’s UV Disinfection Lighting is at work
Smart lighting company Juganu today announced a partnership with Glo Aesthetics & Skin Care to implement its patented J.Protect lighting technology in its salon in Lake Mary, Florida, just outside of Orlando.
According to the company's press release, J.Protect is the world’s first indoor lighting system that mimics the sun and can safely inactivate up to 99.9% of pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes COVID-19.
As news of effective vaccines emerges, the likelihood that they won’t be widely accessible for some time is forcing business owners to consider the current pandemic and future vulnerabilities to bacteria and viruses. The confirmation that SARS CoV-2 can survive nearly a month on surfaces also makes innovative solutions like J.Protect even more crucial.
“As with most businesses around the country, we’ve felt an immense impact from COVID-19 – especially as a personal service provider. While business has slowed, our operating costs have increased,” explained Glo Aesthetics & Skin Care owner, Emily Saker. “We were immediately thrilled with J.Protect’s ability to continually disinfect our space while providing healthier light. We’re excited to give staff and guests a level of comfort in knowing they’re protected when they walk through our doors.”
Juganu’s J.Protect lighting system has two disinfection modes: Allegro, which is continuous and can be used safely while people are present in a room; and Presto, which is accelerated to disinfect an area within minutes once cleared of people. J. Protect is also the only lighting technology to develop a circadian overhead lighting system that promotes well-being through the recreation of natural light shifts – based on sunrise and sunset – providing the safest, healthiest light possible.
Additional benefits of J.Protect for salons:
2’x2’ dimensions make it easy to install in any salon with indoor space and overhead lighting in place
Overhead lighting design enables it to work well against airborne and surface pathogens (e.g., pedicure chairs, vanity stations)
System can be operated remotely from a mobile app for convenience and ongoing safety, both during and after operating hours
“We developed J-Protect exactly for small businesses like Glo that not only want to safely survive but truly thrive,” said Juganu CEO and Cofounder, Eran Ben-Shmuel.
The Glo Aesthetics & Skin Care news comes after J.Protect’s launch in the U.S. and signals another key industry Juganu is bringing the disinfection technology to. In recent tests with French automaker Groupe Renault, the company revealed that J. Protect can disinfect up to 99.9% of pathogens inside a car cabin in just five minutes.
“We have an amazing big-picture solution which provides immediate benefits needed in our present health crisis and any that may arise in the future,” said Tom Pearce, CEO, President and CO-Founder of COLighting Solutions. “Through our partner Juganu, we are able to create a safer salon environment for both customers and technicians and we expect to continue to further instill a safety culture throughout other organizations as well.”
The J. Protect lighting technology has been clinically validated in Israel, with more studies underway in the US and Europe, and is EPA-registered in the U.S. To learn more, visit: www.colighting.solutions.

Owners start to worry when a month's sales come up short compared to the same period last year, but that may have more to do with the days in the month than with an actual decline. The KIM Report's Alain Audet points to May 2026 as a prime example.
