An innovator and educator, Tom Porter, founder of Malibu Wellness, has created his life, moving forward, so that he would be satisfied, looking back. A new podcast series explores his life, work, and personal vision.

Tom Porter's curiosity, openness to opportunity and emphasis on health and wellness have been constants throughout his life.
When asked to describe himself as a young person, Tom Porter, CEO and Founder of Malibu Wellness, a solution-driven professional hair and skin care brand in Malibu, CA, says, “I was the kid that was always looking under the rock to find something very special.”
He has found many treasures during his life's work and he is sharing the stories of those discoveries in a new podcast, Malibu TOM (Total Oxidation Management) Stories, available on Apple Podcasts.
Porter is interviewed by protegee and fellow entrepreneur, Edwin Veguilla. By telling the story of his life, Porter reveals management, marketing, and lifestyle tips, including how to build a business with a partner and how to maintain faith in your vision. And most importantly, how to live your life as you would want to remember it, which is Porter's guiding philosophy.
He launched his company out of his house with his wife, Deb, with a mission to solve problems using nature-inspired, patented technologies. His Total Oxidation Management (TOM) lifestyle approach combines the use of topically applied and freshly activated antioxidant vitamins along with making smart choices that minimize your overexposure to oxidizing elements.
“We've always been told we were way ahead of our time; things we were talking about 30 years ago are now mainstream," Porter says. "I was the first to use the term ‘antioxidant’ and everyone said I was crazy because no one in marketing would put ‘anti’ in front of anything. Nobody cared about the fact that we were food grade or vegan."
The podcast lineup includes:
Episode 1: Highlights of the Journey
Episode 2: Live Your Life the Way You Want to Remember It
Episode 3: Navigating the Waters with Faith in Your Vision
Episode 4: Building a Business with Your Life Partner
Episode 5: Operating a Start-Up from Your Garage
“What I’ve been trying to do all these years is focus on integrity and results and to help the beauty world understand oxidation," Porter concludes. "As an educator I know that I have to be a good communicator. I have to assimilate and share. I’m never the one on the pedestal...I’m the hub. And I’m only as good as the resources around me.”
