Not too long ago, the spa services at Westend Hair Company & Day Spa in El Paso, Texas, were limited to what could be performed in the salon's lone massage room. But when the space next door became available in late 2006, owners Gloria Viramontes and Monica Lorey seized the opportunity to upgrade their spa. The business expanded to include a facial room, a couples massage room equipped with a Vichy shower, and a steam shower for two.
A translucent wall separates the vanity area from the modern lounge.

"We also added a vanity area where the client can touch up her make-up after her treatment, a locker area equipped with towels and product, and a waiting lounge as well," says Viramontes. "We did this all with 800 square feet. We have four people working in there, but it's roomy-our architect really used her imagination."
A steam shower for two is an extra touch for couples' services.
