Austin, Texas, may be known for "keeping it weird," but one local salon simultaneously keeps it tasteful and unique. The decor at Maximum FX Salon Circle C Ranch, owned by Javier Herrera and Chris Murphy, includes a black and pale yellow color palette and blonde wood accents, but truly stands out with its circular layout.
The styling stations line the walls of the main area, and in the center of the room are a circular color bar and shampoo bar, providing convenience for stylists and colorists, as well as efficient use of space. While getting shampooed, clients can prop their feet up on round, red leather ottomans.

"Elaborate flower arrangements, pastel pinks and lots of fabric-that type of decor is sure to drive any male client right out of the front door," say Herrera and Murphy. "On the other hand, if your decor is too masculine, with dark brown tones and hard-lined architectural features, you'll find yourself with fewer female clients."
Keeping the decor whimsical and classy will draw in any type of client.
