Leading up to the 2016 holiday season, Jiva Salon created a five-day Dear Santa Facebook contest. The salon teased the contest with a Facebook Profile picture, and over the next five days, it scheduled posts at midnight giving viewers a chance at a free giveaway when they commented, liked or shared that post over the next 24 hours.

One post invited viewers to share how they would spend a $50 gift card, another encouraged them to tag a friend who needs a free massage, and another asked them to comment why they love Jiva Salonspa. Each day had a giveaway and the winners were announced the following day. Followers who participated in all five days had their name submitted into a drawing for an ultimate makeover.

“Our jaws were on the floor when we watched the Facebook stats roll in. Our first post reached more than 18,238 people and we typically only reach 300-1000,” Bradford says. “By the end of the week, we had reached more than 47,000 people with the campaign.”
